Gifts for him who is convinced he can talk to the animals and wants to answer that burning question come no better than “How Smart is your Dog?” It’s a self-scoring intelligence test developed by a genuine Canadian psychology professor. Carefully researched tests will determine the Canine Intelligence Quotient (CIQ) of your pet. Five of the tests asses problem solving, while the other seven deal with learning ability and memory. With a test book, score and result guide, and a stopwatch for timing the results, the Doggy IQ Test has everything you need to prove that your dog’s not stupid. The only disadvantage is the worrying possibility that the dog might end up with a higher IQ score than you!

The Zhu Zhu hamsters are Mr. Squiggles, Chunk, Patches, Pipsqueak and Num Nums. In addition to the hamsters themselves there is a wide range of toys and accessories available which can be used in a variety of different ways and which allows the children to use their imagination.

The Zhu Zhu pets are aimed at children in the age range of 4 to 10 years old and appeal to both boys and girls. They are not suitable for very small children due to the fact that they contain both moving parts and batteries.

Cepia, the manufacturers, were founded in 2004 and are based in St. Louis. Since the Zhu Zhu Pets launched in August of 2009, six million units have been shipped. An additional six million unit sales are forecast between now and Christmas 2009. At the moment, the hamsters and their accessories are spending less than three minutes, on average, sitting on the shelf before being bought. It seems reasonable to conclude that demand is extremely high. 

Prices are rising, both for the hamsters and the accompanying accessories, and you can already find them on eBay at prices higher than retail. Prices will probably increase the closer we get to Christmas.

Cepia are predicting sales of between $ 300 and $ 400 million over the next twelve months. This will be from not only the Zhu Zhu hamsters – they intend to expand their range to include hedgehogs, squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits. Presumably any small, cute and furry woodland animal which children would find appealing could make it onto their list in future.

Swiss Army Phone. We all know that mobile (cell) phones have come on a long way since the first models and can now do pretty much any digital task under the sun. Glass Cleaning Robot. Men don’t like doing house work, its as simple as that. This gadget thorough makes part of it as easy as pie. This new small bot sticks itself to glass using suction pads and then moves about the whole surface area, cleaning as it goes with rotating moisture scrubbers. The unit itself is only the size of a match box and runs on batteries so can be carried around in the pocket. These gadgets also make great gifts for her, because let’s face it, women like to be lazy sometimes as well.

Double Video Shades. You have been able to get glasses that incorporate mini video screens in them for quite some time now. However the latest glasses invention has screens on both sides of the lens, meaning you can project images outwards as well.This comes in very handy when in a class room or a meeting when you want to watch a bit of TV without anyone knowing. You can watch The Simpsons on the screens pointing inwards and project a video of your eyes, alert and blinking to everyone on the outside world. Genius!

BBQ. As long as you live somewhere that gets at least a couple of days sun a year, a bbq will be well received by any man. As soon as you had over the matches and a BBQ fork, they will be in their element and will keep BBQing until there is nothing left in the fridge.

Of course the “ride-on-toy” is an umbrella term to describe many different things, from the classic four wheel go-kart to a more extravagant motorized model car. But which child can’t remember that desire of envious lust for the plastic vehicles that were pushed forcibly down the nearest hill. Those children lucky enough to have one were the immediate champions of the world, not to mention champions of the steepest hills. With so many fond memories existing in so many minds the ride on toy deserves its moment of limelight.

Buying gifts for kids in particular is tricky. But looking at their happy expressions when they open up their gifts is a great reward. Kids may of course come up with so many gift ideas; some of them which you couldn’t possibly fulfill. I remember my teenager when he was a barely 3, had asked for a real pony for his birthday. The next best thing I could do was to get him a toy pony. It was his favorite toy and I think I still have it up in the attic somewhere.

You may ask them what they want for Christmas. However if you are imaginative you may also want to buy them a gift of your choice. I usually buy them two gifts. The first gift is of their choice and the second gift is something I would like to buy for them.

Buy a toy doll house for your little girl this Christmas; probably one that she can build with you. Boys simply love remote controlled trucks and cars. But you could also get them a set of building blocks. With such a gift they will spend hours building all kinds of things. This will help to stir up their imagination.

Another great gift idea is a [fire truck scooter]. It’s a scooter meant for kids that they can ride. It makes a sound just like that of a fire engine and has flashing lights. You don’t need to worry as it is quite safe.

Whenever you buy gifts, put yourself in the place of your kid and think of what you might have wanted as a gift if all the options that are available today, were available when you were a kid. I am sure that you will be able to find a great gift for your children using that simple rule.
