T-Mobile USA Exposes the Motorola CLIQ With MOTOBLUR. T-Mobile USA, Inc today made an announcement about the upcoming availability of the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR, the 1st Android-powered device from Motorola, Inc ( NYSE : MOT ) and the 1st device to feature the leading edge MOTOBLUR solution.
To you and me that means that Motorola on Thursday announced (at Techmeme) its touchscreen CLIQ smartphone, running on the Google Android platform with a skin it calls “Motoblur.”
The handset will be available on T-Mobile in time for the holiday season. Internationally, it will be called “DEXT” and appear on Orange, América Móvil, and Telefónica.

The CLIQ should be available totally in America and from T-Mobile later Q4.
MOTOBLUR mechanically delivers these updates to the home screen in easy-to-view streams so there is not any need to open and close different mobile applications to stay alongside of the most recent content.
Cole Brodman, chief technology and innovation officer with T-Mobile USA, jointly unveiled CLIQ with MOTOBLUR today with Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and Chairperson of Motorola Mobile Devices, at GigaOM’s Muster 09 meeting. “T-Mobile’s highly social and always-connected purchasers have a natural affinity for mobile social networking, and we are excited to feature the Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR prominently in what’s shaping up to be our most leading edge vacation product lineup ever,” Brodman expounded. “The CLIQ lives up to Motorola’s practice of great design and quality, and to our history of collaborating to make products that augment the lives and the relations of our customers.”. Jha expounded, “We’re thrilled to announce our first Android-powered device in cooperation with T-Mobile USA.
Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR differentiates the Android experience for patrons by being the sole smartphone that mechanically syncs talks, contacts and content, and delivers a solution that is instinctive, social and smart.”. This continued first-mover advantage with Android lets T-Mobile consumers have access to fantastic innovation in the Android Market. The CLIQ delivers a trustworthy mobile Web experience by harnessing the power and speed of T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi. CLIQ also includes multitasking capabilities and one-touch access to the Google mobile services millions use each day, including Google Search by voice, Google Maps with Street View, YouTube and Picasa.
It also mixes instant messaging support for Google Talk, as well as AOL, Yahoo. T-Mobile’s 3G network is currently available in two hundred towns across the nation and covers more than 150 million folks. By the end of 2009, T-Mobile USA expects its 3G network to be available to roughly 2 hundred million folks across the States.
Now that’s pretty impressive, and one wonders whether we have a new “iPod” phone phenomenon on its way from Europe. Only time will tell. However, I for one will be keeping a look out for one in the next store I can see one.
